I wish I could return this, but I downloaded it, so I can't get a refund. It's absolute trash. They claim to be the best selling editing software, and maybe they are, but it's certainly not because they are the best.
They advertise the ability to match video to audio tracks, which you can do, but only if all your cameras have embedded audio on each camera. If you record audio on its own separate track, you're screwed. Like I was screwed out of a Franklin for this junk. It's all but useless. And it looks like they get my hundred bucks, and I go back to the free software I found that looks like it was designed by people who actually know what they are doing. Purchased as update from Version Program crashes every time.
Still waiting to hear from Tech support. I was hoping to start out using it for a simple video editor, and then improve my skills with this highly rated software. I just import one jpeg into the timeline and then push the "produce" button, essentially an export function, and the software completely crashes with no error messages of any kind. Not what I would expect from highly rated software. Oh, and my Windows 10 computer meets the System Requirements in every way. Must be some sort of conflict, but there is no error message to work from.
Not a happy consumer. I can't recommend it for anyone. That is what I am struggling with. Menu seems to talking a lot. Editing software absolutely dysfunctional, by design. It is just a complete distasteful. I've been using computers since the days of punch cards way back in the early s, and I've never run into a program harder to install than this one.
I bought the disks, but it wouldn't install from the disks. I tried downloading it you get a free digital copy , but it wouldn't install from the download. What I ended up doing was copying the files from the disks to one of my hard drives and running setup.

The clips are of single plays, so they're usually no longer than 15 or 20 seconds. Easy and fast. I have no idea how the program would handle a longer "movie" of 10 minutes or longer. Doing a simple and straight-forward movie is easy if you have ever tried any of Microsoft's 'stuff'. I made an excellent 30 min video and really had fun working with fading the video background sound in and out as I recorded my own narration, voice over, at the computer as I watched the movie progress.
Being able to move any element, visual or sound, within the time-line is easy, a great feature when you fine tune your production for the final production on a DVD.
Adding text to slides or video is way too complicated and the tutorials contain no verbal narration just video that needs to be repeatedly viewed because of the rapid pace. This is the case with all of the tutorials - glad they are available but they need work. Over all I am satisfied with my purchase, my skill will increase as I continue to use this software, I believe that even beginners can successfully make great vids, just be patient and use the tutorials.

I am going to say first that this is the third version I have purchased, I did love the 15 and 16, it had many transitions, titles and particles and much more, the 17 does not have very many at all, it came with considerably less than the others, but as I wanted to put the 16 on another machine they said no, and I had to buy the Also the program does crash more frequently than the previous versions.
